MEET THE FOUNDERS
Cebien and Joy-Lynn Alty are community leaders based in Haines City, Florida. They are the proud parents of three beautiful god-given children, a girl and two boys. Their passion for helping individuals and families build strong communities led to the development of UMatter Organization in 2010. They are excited to partner with community leaders, philanthropists, foundations, schools, and resource centers as they seek to rapidly expand program offerings to meet the needs of the nearly 650,000 Polk County residents!
Be the sought after resource for healthy individual, family and community development
Early Focus on Foster, Adoptive, Kinship care Families
Since 2013, UMatter Organization has served over 200 foster, adoptive and kinship care families through the Heart2Heart Program, an innovative educational and respite support group, and the Love Luggage Program which provides care packages to foster youth as they relocate homes.
New programs to meet the needs of ALL Polk County Residents
Coming Fall 2015, UMatter is excited for the launch of the STEM/STREAM Club + Mentoring Program to promote educational success in youth. A multitude of research has found that students with STEM/STREAM skills fare better academically, a key factor to their overall success. We are pleased to partner with Horizon Elementary as our pilot site, and look forward to setting the benchmark for STEM education promotion and expanding to the remaining elementary schools in Polk County based on available funding.
We are pleased to offer programs in education, family enrichment support and a donation center to meet Polk County residents needs. Please contact us if you are interested in partnering with us on our projects currently under construction including a food bank, computer lab, book center and more!
